One characteristic of our Portrait of a Graduate is that TCS students would be well-versed in knowledge and well-rounded in application so that they are set up for success and well-prepared for whatever path God leads them.
Fine Arts
We believe exposure to and education in the Fine Arts to be an essential component in achieving that end of preparedness for whatever path God calls them. As we aspire to offer our students opportunities to engage in the good, the true, and the beautiful, we introduce quality music education throughout our core curriculum. TCS Grammar School students participate in music classes each week where they learn about and make music together. They engage in music-making, playing rhythm instruments and singing together, and relish in the beauty of the God-given gift music is to us. Our School of Logic students participate in a School of Logic Choir where they learn the fundamentals of singing harmonies, using Solfege and practicing sight-reading.
Our 3rd through 9th grade students also have the opportunity to participate in a schoolwide musical. This year, TCS will be performing The Sound of Music, practicing their skills of memorization and demonstrating poise on a stage.
Fine Arts Academy
We also offer a variety of opportunities for our students to engage in and hone their talents and skills at a deeper level through our TCS Fine Arts Academy, an optional after-school enrichment program. At TCS Fine Art Academy students are provided opportunities to sing in various choirs, play instruments and join in a String Ensemble. We are so excited about this burgeoning opportunity for our students to engage even more deeply in quality, classical fine arts education.
