1. Understand and believe the Gospel, trusting Jesus as their Lord and Savior and readily sharing the Gospel at every opportunity.
But in your hearts, honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15 -
2. Are capable of and well-equipped to think deeply and in turn, live examined lives.
The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps. Proverbs 14:15Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Ephesians 5:15-17 -
3. Value learning and develop into humble, lifelong learners.
Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.
Proverbs 20:15 -
4. Are well-versed in knowledge and well-rounded in application so that they are set up for success and well-prepared for whatever path God leads them.
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him–the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of knowledge and fear of the Lord. Isaiah 11:2 -
5. Possess integrity and self-discipline, who can discern the Spirit and navigate difficult issues because they are strongly moored to Truth.
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely. Proverbs 10:9
The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them. Proverbs 11:3
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7

6. Communicate effectively, courageously, and graciously and are capable of confidently articulating and defending their faith, speaking Truth in love.
Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:6 -
7. Boldly lead with servant hearts, considering and esteeming others more than self and yet, also willingly and joyfully submitting to God and God-ordained authority.
Whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:44-45 -
8. Have grit and are willing to do hard things, persevering against resistance and pressing into the hard places.
And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 -
9. Show respect and dignity to all people, valuing others and enthusiastically celebrating God's creative work in fellow image-bearers.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:3
